Aaron Carter's manager, Taylor Helgeson, revealed that the singer was actually working on his musical comeback prior to his death. The singer was gearing up for the release of "Love 2," the sequel to his 2018 album, "Love."

According to reports, Carter was thrilled to be working on his comeback, he also felt that it was going to be his best work to date. However, the singer tragically died before he could even see it come to fruition.

Carter was reportedly found dead in his bathtub by a house sitter on Nov. 5, and his cause of death is yet to be revealed. However, some note that it might have something to do with his battle with substance abuse.

Style Caster reported that the singer was a no-show to his rehab therapy session the night before he was found dead.

Carter On The Mend?

Despite allegations that he was not doing well, and had relapsed back into his substance abuse, Carter's music told a different tale.

Helgeson shared that the upcoming album was a tell-all. He was planning to share with the world the demons he's fought and continued to fight, his relationship with his family-including his older brother, Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter.

As it was supposed to touch on emotional and personal topics, he hoped that it would help fans get to know him better and understand his actions in recent years.

According to reports back in September, Carter was enthusiastic and hopeful of the positive changes in his life. He has checked himself into Lionrock Recovery, an abstinence program, as an outpatient.

"I don't want to smoke weed anymore. I don't really need to," he said. "I do group therapy, parenting classes, domestic violence classes, I got myself certified in CPR, just a lot of different things. It's new being a parent but it's actually become really fun and exciting and given me a new chapter of my life. It's been amazing."

This comes after his long history of substance abuse. In a 2019 interview, he revealed that he was taking drugs, which were used to treat mental illness.

As of this writing, there is no definite word on whether Carter's manager plans to release his posthumous album; however, given that it had already been in the works, it would be a shame if they keep it in the vault.
