Guillermo Del Toro gushes over Taylor Swift after the pop star revealed that she admires him, especially for his work in "Game of Thrones." In return, he gave her gifts that resonates with them.

The 58-year-old filmmaker spoke to W Magazine to react to the singer's admiration for him and his movie/TV credits, saying the pop star is a "very accomplished director" herself and she's very "articulate and deep" about what she's trying to project to her fans.

When asked if he's a Swiftie himself, Del Toro said he admires her a lot and they had "one of the most stimulating and gratifying conversations." (via Billboard)

It appears that the two get along with each other as the director revealed both of them have many common interests, especially in the world of fairy tales.

The filmmaker noted that Swift has a deeper understanding and interest in fable and myth, leading him to give her a few books that he thought would be interesting for her.

Among the gifts he gave her was a book that helped him create "Pan's Labyrinth" called "The Science of Fairy Tales," which revolves around the topic of fairy tale lore.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter's Women In Entertainment Power 100 for this year, the pop star was asked if who she should pick if given a chance to exchange places with any person from Hollywood for one day.

Her answer was Guillermo Del Toro as he has an incredible imagination and a "visual vocabulary and astonishing body of work."

Even though the filmmaker has very diverse ways of storytelling and distinctive creations, Swift feels like he's still "so curious and enthusiastic."

Regarding a character that she identifies with, the "Paper Rings" songstress answered Arya Stark, a character from Del Toro's "Game of Thrones."

Last year, Taylor Swift released her first-ever short film for her smash hit "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)." More recently, the pop star dropped the behind the scenes footage of her work.

The recent video shows the singer taking the role of a director behind the camera while directing actors Dylan O'Brien and Sadie Sink.

The short film brought massive success to Swift's career as she was invited to the Toronto International Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival to talk about the process of her creation.

The singer is also expected to appear on the annual "Directors On Directors" series along with Martin McDonagh.
