Taylor Swift has made a name for herself not only as a singer-songwriter, but also as a director with the release of "All Too Well: The Short Film," and now she will be featured on Variety's "Directors On Directors" interview series.

Swift released behind-the-scenes footage of her first-ever short film, which fans have been begging to see since its release last year.

The "Anti-Hero" singer enlisted Dylan O'Brien and Sadie Sink to portray two lovers who go through the highs and the lows of a relationship supposedly kept under wraps.

The video showed Swift directing the pair through a particular scene in the short film, that showed O'Brien's character letting go of Sink's hand.

"We want to see [the hands] on the table. That's why it's embarrassing," she explained.

"At a certain point, they're going to have a moment of disconnect and you don't have to even notice it at all. You're just having the best time at this dinner party," Swift told O'Brien.

Swift was also shown taking on the stereotypical director role of shouting "cut" after getting the perfect scene.

By the end of the video, the "Bejeweled" singer thanked the cast and crew and explained the significance of the portrayal of each aspect in the short film.

"Like we're watching a person lose an element of innocence and naivete and watching her turn it into something beautiful," she said.

"In the old her, there's a stoicism and seriousness, and a stillness but a sadness. She's fine, but she's not who we met... Like we're watching a person come of age."

Directing Rise

This isn't Swift's first time directing her own video, but this is her first time solely directing it, and it proved to be one of her greatest masterpieces, as it has brought her the recognition of filmmakers and festivals.

According to Billboard, the singer was invited to the Toronto International Film Festival as well as the Tribeca Film Festival to talk about her directorial process.

Variety reported that Swift will be accompanying Martin McDonagh, the genius behind "The Banshee of Inisherin," to start off their annual "Directors On Directors" series.

The series shows different filmmakers discussing the filmmaking process. According to reports, other directors included in the upcoming series' roaster includes James Cameron, Robert Rodriguez, Ryan Coogler, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Chinonye Chukwu, Tyler Perry, Sarah Polley, Francis Ford Coppola, Joe Kosinski, and Rian Johnson.

This just shows Swift's directorial rise not only among fans but also among filmmakers, furthermore, according to reports, "All Too Well: The Short Film" is eligible for a nomination at the 2023 Oscars Award, under its live-action short category.
