Following the 2023 Oscars results, Diane Warren has yet to earn her very first competitive Academy Award for Best Original Song.

The songwriting giant, 66, has been nominated plenty of times at the Academy Awards for her songwriting prowess. However, up until now, she has failed to win any of her nominations.

In fact, she has been given an Academy Honorary Award for her contribution to music.

"Warren's music and lyrics have magnified the emotional impact of countless motion pictures and inspired generations of musical artists," Warren's recognition read.

To date, she has 0 Oscars. She has only been nominated for one category - Academy Award for Best Original Song.

She first received a nomination in 1987 for her song "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" from the movie "Mannequin."

Warren also penned the Celine Dion hit "Because You Loved Me," from "Up Close and Personal," the Aerosmith yearning anthem "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," and the Gloria Estefan and NYSNC link-up "Music of My Heart."

Since 2014, with an exception in 2016, Warren has been nominated for the same category consecutively. She has shared nominations with Lady Gaga, Common, and Laura Pausini.

At the 95th Annual Academy Awards, she is one of the frontrunners for the category. Her song "Tell It Like A Woman" was against giants like Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," Lady Gaga's "Hold My Hand" from "Top Gun: Maverick," "This is A Life" from Mitski, David Byrne, and Son Lux." But it was "RRR's" international sensation "Naatu Naatu" that took home the Oscars.

Diane Warren Honorary Academy Award

However, the Academy Awards did not fail to recognize her brilliance and contribution to music and cinema.

She was awarded by Cher in 2022 with an Academy Honorary Award along with filmmaker Euzhan Palcy and retired Australian director Peter Weir.

According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Honorary Awards are given for Lifetime Achievements, exceptional contributions, and outstanding service to the academy. It is given at the discretion of the Academy's esteemed board of governors.

Other awardees of the Honorary Award include giants like Cicely Tyson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Chan, Spike Lee, Angela Lansbury, and James Earl Jones, among many others.
