Over the past few months, many fans were hanging at the edge of their seats whenever Chloe Bailey announces something regarding new music. However, everything changed when she dropped the second single of her new album as it was revealed that her collaborator was Chris Brown.

The 1/2 of Chloe x Halle recently dropped by Audacy's "V-103 Podcast" where she finally addressed the issue surrounding her featuring track titled "How Does It Feel" with the rapper.

The R&B star said she wanted her music to speak for itself and noted that the criticism she received from the collaboration stemmed from everything that she does as an artist.

"No matter what I do, people always find things to say about it, so I'm used to it. I just choose to ignore it. People have every right to their opinions, freedom of speech, and it's up to me to choose what I give my attention and energy to," she added. (via Billboard)

Chloe did not react further to the drama.

Chloe Bailey, Chris Brown Collab Angered Fans

In February, the musician announced that she would be releasing a song with Chris Brown as the second single of her new album "In Pieces."

Upon sharing the news on several social media platforms, fans quickly called her out as fans deem her project with the rapper as her "worst career move."

"this the worst career move she could ever make right now like she's gonna get dogged the same way Normani did and there's nothing I want or can do for her," one user wrote on Twitter.

The Reason Why Fans Were Upset

One of the main reasons why fans were upset about the collaboration was because of Chris Brown's series of controversies through the years.

Last year, Kelly Rowland accepted the award for Favorite Male R&B Artist on his behalf. She defended the 33-year-old artist for his previous actions and told fans that they should give grace and forgiveness.

However, her acceptance speech was met with criticism as the crowd booed her at the ceremony.

According to The Brag, Chris Brown's issue started in 2009 when he assaulted Rihanna. He pleaded guilty to a felony and accepted a plea deal.

At the time, he underwent community service, five years probation, and domestic violence counseling.

He was also involved in an incident in 2012 where she stole a fan's phone after taking his photo. He also shoved a woman into the ground the following year and many more.
