Met Gala gathers some of the biggest celebrities in different fields such as music, fashion, entertainment, and more. Behind the glitz and glamour, there are also controversies that artists face almost every year at the biggest event in the industry.

From Jay-Z and Solange Knowles' elevator fight to Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato's alleged issue, check out three of the most shocking scandals at fashion's biggest night.

Met Gala Celebrity Scandals

Jay-Z, Solange Knowles' Shocking Elevator Fight

According to She Knows, the controversy between Beyoncé's husband, Jay-Z, and sister, Solang Knowles, happened at the 2014 edition of the event.

Everyone was calm and happy on the red carpet early that evening as the couple walked together while the "Almeda" songstress arrived separately.

However, things changed at the afterparty as leaked security footage made rounds online, showing Solange attacking the rapper.

Initially, the reason behind the altercation was unclear, but an insider told People Magazine that designer Rachel Roy allegedly provoked the musician.

Solange reportedly "snapped" after Jay-Z said something inappropriate to his wife and it all went down when they all entered the elevator.

"Solange is super protective of Beyoncé," the source added.

The power couple later addressed the issue by sharing an official statement, saying there is a lot of speculation about what truly happened, but what's important is their family "worked it through."

Nicki Minaj vs Demi Lovato

Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato both have different genres of music. However, they were gathered together during the Met Gala in 2016.

At the time, both artists attended with celebrity fashion designer, Jeremy Scott. They had tons of pictures online, but little did the public know that there was an issue happening behind the scenes.

The outlet noted that the "Red Ruby Da Sleeze" rapper shared a photo of them together later that evening, but she didn't tag the former Disney star.

The "Substance" songstress later commented with a laughing, peace sign, and thumbs-up emojis.

Lovato didn't stop there as she later shared a photo of them together where the female rapper can be seen giving her the side-eye to which she captioned, "This picture pretty much summed up my first and probably last met."

The pop star turned rocker later deleted the post.

Paris Jackson and More Celebrities Break Met Gala's No-Smoking Rule

In 2017, many critics and online users became furious after photos of several celebrities, including singer Paris Jackson, made rounds around the internet showing them smoking in the bathroom of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.

Other stars who were seen smoking were Bella Hadid, Rami Malek, Dakota Johnson, and many more.

An unknown source who claimed to be a donor spoke to Page Six at the time, saying they were "insulted" to see what happened as it's disrespectful to the art collection in the museum.

More recently, Doja Cat, who broke the internet with her Choupette-inspired look, also became the center of attention on the internet after she was seen vaping at the venue.
