More details are emerging following rapper Jeezy's arrest in California

According to reports by the San Jose Mercury News, Jeezy was one of six people arrested Sunday (Aug. 24) in Irvine on suspicion of possessing an assault rifle. The arrest was made during the investigation into a deadly shooting backstage at a concert.

The concert was one of the last stops for Wiz Khalifa's annual Under The Influence tour. The Atlanta rapper was part of the bill.

Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, was arrested by Mountain View police detectives at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine.

The Mercury News says the other five people arrested were working for the tour. All were arrested on suspicion of possessing an assault weapon.

None of the arrested have been identified as suspects in the fatal shooting, which claimed the life of 38-year-old Eric Johnson. The shooting victim reportedly worked as an entertainment promoter but it is said that he had no connection to Khalifa's tour.

Mountain View police sergeant Saul Jaeger confirmed to the paper that no arrests had been made in the homicide investigation. Police are still searching for one suspect. The gun involved has been described as a "black pistol with a large magazine."

Jeezy and two others who were arrested with the rapper had their bail set at $1 million each. One other is being held on $20,000 bail, which a legal expert said is more typical for the gun offense.

Legal analyst and former Santa Clara County prosecutor Steven Clark told the Mercury News that police probably know more than they are letting on.

"On the face of it, it's an exorbitant bail on a relatively benign charge. If they didn't think he had significant knowledge about the homicide, I can't imagine why he'd have a million-dollar bail," Clark said. "They want to make sure he doesn't go anywhere for the short term. There's much more to this that we don't know."

Stay tuned for more updates.
