Some of Gorillaz fans already bought tickets for the band's upcoming shows and are looking forward to seeing them perform live but it appears that the shows are not happening anymore as the group announced the tour's cancelation; what happened?

According to Uproxx, the band was supposed to have a series of concerts across the United States this September and tickets started rolling out in May.

They were scheduled to play with supporting acts Lil Yachty, Kaytranada, and Remi Wolf.

However, fans who already purchased their passes for the shows received an email today and it was confirmed that Gorillaz's tour had been canceled.

Gorillaz Tour 2023 Canceled: Why Did the Band Decide to Cancel Their Shows?

As noted in the email that fans received today, Gorillaz revealed that their shows will not push through due to "scheduling conflicts and circumstances beyond our control."

The band also noted that those who bought tickets will receive refunds automatically at the point of purchase and they're doing their best for this transaction to be done as soon as possible.

As of now, the group noted that "there is nothing further" for fans to do and supporters should wait up to 30 days for their money to be refunded.

In a statement written for their fans, Gorillaz said they are "gutted" that the shows for this year were canceled.

"We were really looking forward to it and we hope to get back to you again as soon as we can. We love our Gorillaz family and we can't wait to see you again," they added.

As of this writing, Gorillaz did not give more information as to why they were canceling the shows.

13 - Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas

The upcoming shows was initially planned to promote their latest album "Cracker Island." Despite the cancellation of their shows, they were able to take the stage at this year's Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California this year. (via Consequence Sound)

At the time, fans were surprised as special guests Bad Bunny, Yasiin Bey, De La Soul, and more were brought out to the stage.
