It appears that Pantera was looking for new members as one musician from Sweden revealed that member Philip Anselmo considered him to be the new guitarist for the group's comeback concert last year.

A guitarist named Ola Englund, popularly known for playing for bands like Feared, The Haunted, and Six Feet Under, shared a video on his official YouTube channel and he claimed that the rock legend told him he was one of the people Pantera is considering to be a part of the band.

Per Loudwire, the Swedish-born musician is currently 41 years old and aside from being a guitarist on a few bands, he is also a content creator who boasts 800,000 subscribers on his channel.

In a video, Englund recalled his time during the iconic group's show in Hamburg, Germany. He revealed that he had the opportunity to hang out with the band members before they started performing.

Towards the end of the video, the musician said he spoke with Anselmo and there was a moment he couldn't forget for the rest of his life.

He told viewers that the musician is currently in "such great space" and he felt a good energy from him when they spoke with one another.

"He said that my name was on the list when they started talking about this Pantera tribute thing," he added.

Englund then said that there are many better choices than him, but knowing that he made it to the list, regardless if he was at the bottom or not, it was unbelievable for him and it was a big honor.

Pantera Comeback

Pantera eventually performed at their first concert after more than two decades during the Hell & Heaven Festival in Mexico late last year.

According to Rolling Stone, the band's last show prior to the December concert was in August of 2001. Initially, the group announced that they would be taking a break, but a few years later, fans were shocked as the band split.

Following their disbandment, guitarist "Dimebag Darrell" Abbott was tragically killed while performing on stage in 2004. On the other hand, his brother, Vinnie Paul, who was also the drummer of the group, passed away in 2018.

The members who reunited on stage were Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, as well as new additions like Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist) and Charles Benante of Anthrax.
