Nicki Minaj has been calling herself "Barbie" since Nicki Minaj was catapulted into popularity. With her loyal fan base being called "Barbz," Minaj and the famous doll have been tied for life.

Since Greta Gerwig took on the project of the decade that is "Barbie," fans have been posting online to have Minaj in the movie. Many were disappointed not to see Minaj in the movie posters, unknown that they would actually be seeing her in the trailer.

The biggest surprise for everybody was when the "Barbie" movie trailer came out and Nicki Minaj was heard in the last few seconds - "It's Barbie if you're still in doubt."

Shortly after, Nicki Minaj was announced along with the start-studded artist lineup as part of the "Barbie" soundtrack.

Nicki Minaj on 'Barbie World'

"Barbie World" a play on Aqua's iconic 2007 song "Barbie Girl," gets reimagined with Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice. As America Ferrera puts it, only Nicki Minaj could take a track that was already "so ingrained in people's minds as one thing and make it the most amazing thing that we need for this movie and this moment.

The record has since debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making it the highest-charting single of the "Barbie" movie soundtrack to date.

Explaining to Entertainment Tonight about the track, Minaj confessed that there were some songs that she did not want to be in.

"This 'Barbie' sample, I loved it. I just wanted it to have a dope drum, and so the one that they sent me, I loved! And I jumped on it right away," she told the outlet.

Nicki Minaj on 'Barbie' Soundtrack

Forbes, in a recently-published article, called Nicki Minaj's addition to "Barbie" as "The Ultimate Brand Fit," noting that Minaj had multiple songs in the Top 40 with "Barbie" on them.

"This perfect alignment of two brands coming together so brilliantly seems destined, and one without the other seems impossible to imagine now. When the timing was right, they immediately complemented and bolstered each other's success," Time said.

Minaj got a whiff of the report and took to Twitter to express her gratitude.
