Metallica's hit song "Fuel" literally fueled the hype of the upcoming NASA Artemis lunar missions.

NASA started working on its Artemis missions which aims to send the first woman and first person of color to the moon. The next mission, once successful, will become the first time a person walks on the Earth's natural satellite since astronaut Eugene Cernan stepped off in 1972.

Ahead of the launch, NASA unveiled a short clip to promote Artemis and used Metallica's "Fuel" to present the epic video.

Metallica Becomes Part of NASA's Artemis Promotional Video

NASA launched the moon exploration program by marking the first flight in 2017. By 2024, the US space agency plans to send its first crewed flight to the moon.

Ahead of the upcoming lunar mission, its official Twitter page uploaded a 46-second clip featuring Metallica's hit song, "Fuel," and highlighted James Hetfield's voice as he shouted the track's notable lyrics.

NASA also uploaded the same video on its official YouTube channel, highlighting that Metallica and its Artemis missions have something in common: "Fuel" and fire.

"Give me that which I desire," the caption reads. "This #InternationalDayofRock, @Metallica is adding "Fuel" to the fire of our #Artemis missions to the Moon."

Metallica's songs have been conquering different industries over the past years. Before the NASA feature, the hit TV show "Stranger Things" brought back "Master of Puppets" to the charts when it included the track on season 4 of the Netflix series. The song was particularly heard in a scene when metalhead and club leader of Dungeons and Dragons Hellfire, Eddie Munson, played the song's guitar part to save his friends from Upside Down creatures.
