Tupac Shakur's murder case will examine the bullets found at the former gangland enforcer's home to determine whether they are related to the rapper's killing.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department detectives obtained a search warrant nearly 27 years after Tupac Shakur was shot and later died in a 1996 drive-by shooting. The warrant was reportedly created to search the house of the gang member Duane Keith Davis - also known as Keefe D or Keefy D - in Henderson, Nevada.

What's The Relationship Between Duane Keith Davis, Tupac Shakur?

The Las Vegas Metro Police said in a warrant that detectives found and recovered .40 caliber bullets from the residence, and they would be tested by forensic experts to determine whether they are connected to the rapper's death.

A Las Vegas Police source confirmed the development, adding that they also took manuscripts, digital storage devices, phones, and computers.

The newly-obtained materials, especially the bullets, will be compared to the forensic evidence homicide detectives recovered from Tupac Shakur's death scene in 1996.

"Microfibers or residues from the weapon or the bullet could prove to be a link," a police source said. "There is no information yet on the history of the bullets, how old they are or their significance. And it will take some time to assess how the bullets play a role in this case.

No Arrests Have Been Made Yet

Amid the development, an insider said the homicide detectives are being secretive regarding the next steps as they try to solve Tupac Shakur's case to finally reach an arrest or indictment.

The Las Vegas Grand Jury will receive the evidence related to the decades-old case, and more search warrants are expected to be executed in the next few weeks, per the reports.

According to NBC News, Keefy D was one of the four people believed to be in the suspect vehicle when Tupac Shakur was shot while his nephew and suspect Orlando Anderson later died following a gang-related killing in Los Angeles.

Although the rapper was not immediately killed in the shooting, he later died at the University Medical Center despite his doctors expecting his condition to improve after he underwent emergency surgery.
