After more than a decade away from the music industry, Garth Brooks made his triumphant return to releasing new songs. Today (Sept. 3), the legendary country music star dropped his new track "People Loving People" on the radio, his first new solo single in six years.

"People Loving People" continues Brooks' '90s blend of bringing together the worlds of country music, rock 'n' roll and radio-friendly pop. Starting off with an epic round of guitar riffs, Brooks' light vocals touched with a twang sing about coming together in order to ward off the ills of the world.

"Doctor you ain't got a pill / For whatever's making this world ill / You can't get forgiveness at the store / And peace is a politician's war / You won't find no resolution at the bottom of the bottle / And the stars will never stop them / The only answer to the problem is / People loving people / That's the enemy of everything that's evil," Brooks sings in the opening verse and chorus with a noted hopeful tone in his delivery.

It's a triumphant return to the world of country music, both in concept and execution, and it's safe to say that Brooks is back.

The new music from Brooks comes ahead of the release of his first studio album since 2001's Scarecrow, due out sometime in November.

Brooks has also added new tour dates to his 2014 live trek. After performing a round of concerts in Chicago and Atlanta, Brooks announced he will be heading to Jacksonville, Florida, from Oct. 10-12.
