Romy of The xx might have just released her first solo album ever, but her heart would always be with her band as she recently teased fans about the group's new record.
The musician recently spoke with Apple Music 1's Matt Wilkinson to discuss what the band—consisting of Romy, Oliver Sim, and Jamie xx—plans for the future.
Regarding the sound of their new record, Romy said she still has no idea but she thinks it would be her working on trance pads, Oliver Sim "wailing," while Jamie xx is on the drums.
"We were laughing. But I think that we have a lot of love for the sound we create with The xx," she added.
Romy Excited to Work With The xx Again Amid Solo Music
The singer further noted that she's excited to pick up the guitar again and embrace whatever the band creates in the future.
She also wanted to explore the group's sound as she noted that it would be something "in a new way" because of evolution.
"I think I want to keep evolving though. I think we all do. That's why I wanted to do this project, to learn and specifically to work with other people. To learn how they work," she added. (via NME)

Romy wasn't the only member of The xx who explored their solo career as Oliver Sim also released his debut album "Hideous Bastard."
The last time the group released an album was in 2017 for the record "I See You."
Romy on Solo Music Career
In a previous interview, Romy mentioned that although she was in a highly-successful band over the past decade and even won a mercury prize for their first album, she wasn't sure if she would venture out releasing solo music at first.
"I don't think I felt like I could do it, self-confidence wise... And I didn't have a burning desire to have all the attention on me," she explained.
However, she was able to gain confidence and released her club-ready debut solo album "Mid Air," which has heavy influences on house music like Madonna's "Confessions On A Dance Floor."
Romy's "Mid Air" is now available for streaming on major music platforms online like Spotify and Apple Music.
