It's been nearly a decade since AC/DC performed on stage in front of thousands of fans, but they were able to make a big comeback at a music festival recently, including Brian Johnson who previously left the band due to his hearing issues.

According to Rolling Stone, the legendary Australian band took the stage of the Power Trip festival, making it Johnson's first major performance since September 2016.

At the time when he decided to depart from the group, the band was in the middle of their "Rock or Bust" tour, but since the frontman couldn't fulfill his duties due to his hearing, Axl Rose was the one who took over for the remaining 22 shows.

Aside from Johnson, Matt Laug was behind the drumkit to fill-in for Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams was also there fresh from his retirement, along with others like Angus and Stevie Young on guitar.

Throughout their Power Trip Festival performance, Spin reported that the group was able to perform over 24 songs and their opening track was "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)."

In addition, they also performed their most iconic releases such as "Have a Drink on Me," "Highway to Hell," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and many more.

Brian Johnson Initially Unsure if AC/DC Would Ever Perform Again

The latest festival appearance comes a year after Brian Johnson said in a previous interview that he was not sure if the group would ever perform again even though he wanted it to happen.

"I would love to... It's as simple as that. I think everybody would. There's a groundswell of people just asking. But I hate talking about the future, because, f***, we were ready two years ago, and the pandemic came, and it screwed everything up," he said.

He later added that he was "terrified" to say what could happen and what couldn't.

Brian Johnson Hearing Loss

Brian Johnson previously opened up about his hearing loss on his memoir and he noted that after he retired from performing, he poured all of his love into racing cars.

He noted that people would come up to him most of the time and tell him how fearless he was, but deep inside, he knew that it wasn't true. (via The Los Angeles Times)

In a previous press release at the time when he left the group, Johnson said when he found out about his diagnosis, it became the "darkest day" of his professional life.
