Julia Michaels has been a renowned singer-songwriter for so long. This year, she has been getting attention and buzz for her outstanding work for "Wish," whose soundtrack was written by her.

Meanwhile, Michaels was recently involved in a controversy concerning her, Charli XCX, and Britney Spears, where she was rumored to be writing for Spears' new album.

Julia Michaels Honored In Writing 'Wish'

In a Billboard interview, Julia Michaels reflected on the incredible opportunity of writing for Disney.

"It was such an honor. I grew up watching Disney and listening to Disney," Michaels confessed. "The first time I saw Wish as a movie with all the songs in it, I was like, oh my gosh, this is going to live longer than me. This exists now and there's going to be littles all over the world that are going to feel connected to these songs and they're going to grow up with these songs like I grew up with my Disney songs. Wrapping my head around that has been so deeply surreal."

For Michaels, it was a "pinch me" moment for her to be doing this.

"Little me wouldn't even understand that. I come from a very chaotic, broken family. I didn't come from money. I didn't come from anything," she added.

In expecting new music from her, Michaels teased that she has been writing for many artists again, which she described to have been "really good for the soul."

Julia Michaels Writing For Britney Spears?

Earlier this year, it was rumored that Britney Spears is gearing towards a new album release since being liberated from her conservatorship.

Among the names that were tossed in the mix were Julia Michaels and Charli XCX.

According to The Sun, Britney Spears' new album is being "kept top secret."

"Work has been going on behind the scenes for quite a while to gather a series of killer songs to bring Britney back with a bang," the source said. "She is known as one of the biggest pop stars of the 21st century so there is pressure for the music to be great."

Page Six reported that Julia Michaels was tapped to write on Britney Spears' new album. However, in an Instagram post, Spears debunked the allegations.

"Just so we're clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album ... I will never return to the music industry !!!" she revealed in her now-deleted post.
