• Indie Rock Stars Help Write, Produce Album For The Silver Lake Chorus

    The Silver Lake Chorus must feel like they are the coolest kids on the block nowadays. With the band set to release their new self-titled album June 16, the general public is going to find out what many top indie rock stars had already figured out. Album producer Ben Lee assembled the talents of other big name musician friends who enjoyed The Silver Lake Chorus to compose original tunes for the band to record.
  • Cat Power, Stars, And More To Play New York's Modern Sky Festival

    The line-up for the very first Modern Sky Festival in New York City has been announced through the festival's website. Headliners include Cat Power, Liars, Stars, the Both (Aimee Mann and Ted Leo), and the Blood Brothers, who have reunited this year after splitting back in 2007. Some of the festival's other acts include a special tribute to Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor featuring as of yet unannounced special guests, as well as a number of rock and electronic artists from China to fill out the rest of the line-up. The festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5 at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.

The premise: it’s the 1000th birthday of America, and an evil alien is threatening to destroy the U.S. unless the president and his secret service agent can prove that the country is worth saving. '2776' features more than 80 comedians, musicians and actors who got together to record songs about this crazy place we call home.
