Electric Daisy Carnival Reveals '15 Sin City Dates [WATCH]
Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella has announced in a Facebook post the dates for the Electric Daisy Carnival's 2015 Las Vegas event, which will return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway June 19 to 21. According to "Your EDM," the 2015 festival will also bring back its weeklong EDMbiz Conference & Expo, which will run from June 16 to 23. "Let's celebrate under the electric sky and watch the sun rise together!" Rotella wrote in the Facebook announcement. "Come one, come all, come home." Calvin Harris's 'Motion' Tops Dance/Electronic Album Sales; Knife Party's 'Abandon Ship' No. 2
Calvin Harris has another No. 1 record, as reported by Dancing Astronaut. His recent artist album "Motion" just hit No. 1 on the dance/electronic sales charts with 35,000 copies sold, sliding in ahead of Knife Party's debut artist album "Abandon Ship," which leaked three weeks early on iTunes via "Billboard." Harris's "Motion" unseated Disclosure's hit album "Settle," which has been on the top of the dance/electronic albums charts for the past 75 weeks. This is Calvin Harris's second No. 1 on the dance/electronic album charts, following his 2012 effort "18 Months." Harris's chart domination does not stop at albums. He has also topped the Billboard hot dance/electronic songs chart with his single "Blame" alongside U.K. singer John Newman. It is the 10th week that "Blame" has been in the charts since it was first released. It is Calvin Harris's third song currently in the top 10 via "Billboard." He set records when he became the first artist to place three songs in the dance/electronic top 10 and has not relinquished his grip on the chart just yet, with "Blame," "Outside" featuring Ellie Goulding and "Summer." -

Calvin Harris beat out some tough competitors like Avicii, David Guetta and Hardwell for the title of Best Electronic Artist at MTV's European Music Awards Sunday, Nov. 9. The EMA win was his first after four previous nominations. The network announced prior to the show that Harris would not be able to perform at the event: "Hey #MTVEMA fans — we have some really sad news. Calvin Harris has taken ill and will not be able to perform at tomorrow's show. He sends his sincere apologies. Get well soon, Calvin!" According to BBC News, the cancellation was due to some heart issues, which Harris revealed in a tweet that has since been deleted. "No EMAs for me this weekend. Got some heart problems. Heading home to see if it can be fixed x," the electronic dance music artist reportedly wrote. -

Another day, another DJ down with a sickness. Avicii has been in the news because he has had to take extended time off from touring due to lingering health concerns. Now Calvin Harris, on the eve of the MTV European Music Awards in his home country of Scotland, has to cancel his performance due to health concerns, according to "Billboard." MTV confirmed the news yesterday via its Facebook page, saying, "Hey #MTVEMA fans — we have some really sad news. Calvin Harris has taken ill and will not be able to perform at tomorrow's show. He sends his sincere apologies. Get well soon, Calvin!" Harris did not confirm himself. He is nominated for the best U.K./Ireland act and the best electronic act. -

According to "Billboard," "Calvin Harris becomes the first act to place three songs simultaneously in the Hot Dance / Electronic Songs top 10, as 'Outside,' featuring Ellie Goulding, debuts at No. 7. It joins 'Blame,' featuring John Newman (No. 2) and 'Summer' (No. 9) in the upper tier."
