  • Disney Sued by Music Festival Tomorrowland Over Movie 'Tomorrowland'

The tables have turned on Disney. After starting its public and still-ongoing lawsuit with deadmau5 over what it deems to be using the likeness of Mickey Mouse, Disney is now on the other end of a trademark battle with electronic music festival Tomorrowland. The current dispute stems from a new movie Disney is releasing in 2015 titled "Tomorrowland," starring George Clooney and Hugh Laurie, and since the festival owns the rights to the name Tomorrowland in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, the Disney film is being forced to make a name change to acquiesce with the trademark demands of ID&T, the promoter of Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland launched its first festival in 2005. This legal discord between Tomorrowland the festival and Disney has some history. Disney owns the rights to the term "Tomorrowland" in the United States, since it is a themed land in each of the five Disney parks around the world. When the festival Tomorrowland decided to make the move Stateside, Disney forced the festival to make a name change, so it became "TomorrowWorld." Trademark attorney Sharon Daboul told the "Belfast Telegraph": "Disney has a trademark registration in the USA for the term 'Tomorrowland,' dating back to 1970. With this registration, it was successfully able to prevent the music festival from calling itself Tomorrowland when it launched in the USA. However, the music festival has the rights to the term in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and has prevented Disney from using the name in these countries."
  • Christina Aguilera Reportedly Calls Mickey Mouse an 'A--hole' at Park

Christina Aguilera's relationship with her former boss, Mickey Mouse, has hit a rough patch. While visiting Disney's California Adventure amusement park recently, the pop star reportedly had some choice words for the iconic cartoon character. The former Mouseketeer called the mascot an "a--hole" when she had to wait to take a picture. She then began hurling threats at Mickey, eventually asking, "Do you know who I am?" At least, that is what TMZ is reporting. Aguilera and her friends rattled off so many threats that Mickey was taken to a safe area. But hey, that did not stop the diva from snapping a picture anyway: Fun birthday celebration at the happiest place on earth #disneyland pic.twitter.com/19mAxYmAVX — Christina Aguilera (@xtina) December 18, 2014 When she is not harassing beloved children's characters, Aguilera is busy being one of pop's biggest names. • 'Frozen' 'Let It Go' Synced to Christmas Lights: Performance Would Make Clark Griswold Proud [WATCH]

For years, Chevy Chase's Clark Griswold was the champion of holiday exterior illumination when he wrapped his home in thousands of Christmas lights for "Christmas Vacation." Since the 1980s, though, we have had a few technological advances in the area of Christmas lights. A few years ago, Miller Brewing Co. synced some lights to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Wizards of Winter" and people have been beefing up their displays ever since. The most recent home display features a marvelous performance of "Let It Go" from Disney's "Frozen." The video comes from listentoourlights.com, and it is one of the better light performances around. The centerpiece is the front yard that contains two large trees and some smaller decorations. Huge snowflakes on the house illustrate a "storm" backdrop as they "fall" to the ground. The cactus in the window kind of threw me off, though. Either way, it is a terrific display for fans of the movie or those fond of Christmas lights. Check it out below. Frozen's soundtrack was recently named the best-selling album on the "Billboard" 200 chart for 2014. It beat out releases by Sam Smith, Taylor Swift and Jason Aldean. The effort spent 13 weeks at the No. 1 spot, making it Disney's longest, best-selling soundtrack ahead of "The Lion King." This year has not been great for record sales, but Frozen was the first album to hit the platinum mark for 2014. Swift's "1989," Ariana Grande's "My Everything" and Aldean's "Old Boots, New Dirt" also surpassed 1 million sales. Smith's "In the Lonely Hour" is expected to join the club before year's end.
