The year is coming to a close, and that means you shouldn't expect too many new releases coming down the pipe. This week's Top 10 of the Billboard 200 didn't have any new entries, so expect to see some familiar names. -
Beyoncé Zeitgeist Leads to Billboard 200 Victory over Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson
Beyoncé's new album was totally unannounced, plus it came out on Thursday versus the traditional Tuesday release, plus it was only available on iTunes, so there's no way that it could have made a big Billboard 200 impact, right? HA. -
Garth Brooks Will Tour World for Three Years
Garth Brooks may be leading us on with this whole "Oh-shoot-I-just-let-another-integral-part-of-my-2014-plans-slip-on-national-television" shenanigan. The country star let another piece of the puzzle "slip" during his tour of the talk show circuit when he was on The Talk. The good news is that one part of the announcement process isn't a charade: the fact that a tour is totally going to happen. -

The announcement came while Brooks was appearing on Good Morning America in support of his new compilation Blame It On My Roots. Although we have no evidence to support his claims, if we can't take Brooks' word for what it's worth, what can we? -
One Direction Tops Black Friday Album Sales Race

If you haven't read the news, music sales are down across nearly every format (aside from vinyl), and this has reflected in new releases too, even with some of the biggest stars. What the industry needed was a good Black Friday to boost sales. And boost did it ever. -
Garth Brooks Announces More Las Vegas Concert Dates
Brooks has planned some shows for 2014. Unfortunately, at least for the time being, they only consist of a few more gigs at the Wynn. The gig will consist of four shows on January 3-4, titled "Garth Brooks: The Man, His Band and His Music." The difference between these shows and the residency he just finished up is that now he'll have his original band backing him.
