A new album from electronic indie darling Grimes may see the light of day as soon as September. The "Oblivion" musician took to her official Twitter account on Tuesday, Jan. 7, claiming that her sophomore effort would be released on Sept. 9. -
Grimes signs management deal with Jay Z's Roc Nation label
Grimes (born Claire Boucher) announced yesterday through a picture she posted on Tumblr that she had signed a management deal to Jay Z's Roc National label. The image featured her throwing up the Roc diamond. The entertainment company has signed artists including Haim, M.I.A., Rihanna, Matthew Dear, Shakira, Kylie Minogue and Timbaland. -
DIIV criticizes Grimes for her take on being vegan
Apparently Grimes isn't vegan enough for New York band DIIV. It all started when Grimes posted on her Tumblr that she loved the new Anchorman themed Ben and Jerry's butterscotch ice cream called Scotchy Scotch Scotch, released to promote the upcoming sequel. -
Grimes Irritates Ibiza With Playlist Including Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey and Daddy Yankee
Ibiza is renowned as perhaps the world capitol for electronic music, so that's a heck of a place for Grimes to make her debut as a disc jockey. The Vancouver-based musician has plenty of experience with electronic elements, including her acclaimed 2012 album "Visions," so fans probably something equally as dream pop/darkwave. That's not what they got.
