That intercepted pass, just one yard away from winning Super Bowl XLIX, will go down in history as one of the worst plays ever. At least Carroll has owned that the play call was entirely his idea, so ultimately he is the one responsible for handing the New England Patriots their fourth Super Bowl victory under coach Bill Belichick. But overall, the ratings soared.
