It's time to look back and watch the successful life and tragic death of Whitney Houston as portrayed by Naomi Ackie in the upcoming biopic, "I Wanna Dance With Somebody;" when is it coming out and who will be starring in the movie?

According to Uproxx, the life stories of music icons like Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley, and Elton John, have been shown to the public through biopics over the recent years and it's Houston's turn to get her own movie.

Regarding the official cast members, Naomi Ackie ("Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker") would portray the late powerhouse singer, but the outlet noted that all the singing parts in the movie will still use Houston's original vocals.

Speaking to USA Today, executive producer Clive Davis said production didn't think anyone could match the late musician's "vocal genius" that's why they decided to use her original voice when it comes to the singing scenes.

Other cast members include Stanley Tucci as Clive Davis, the one who's credited to have discovered the singer, along with other stars like Tamara Tunie, Clarke Peters, Nafessa Williams, and many more.

Directed by Kasi Lemmons, the biopic's screenplay was written by Anthony McCarten, popularly known for being involved in the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody." Davis serves as the executive producer of the film.

Per the outlet, the movie will be celebrating the life of Whitney Houston from being a young girl in New Jersey who sings in a choir to one of the most notable and popular musicians of all time.

The biopic will also tackle the emotional journey of the late singer as well as her famous performances like singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

For fans who wanted to watch the film, "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" will hit theaters this December 23.

Bobby Brown Reacts to Whitney Houston Biopic

Houston's ex-husband, Bobby Brown, recently reacted to the upcoming movie. Speaking to E! News, the singer told the outlet that he's "probably gonna watch it."

The musician did not give further comments regarding the matter.

The recent reaction comes after Brown revealed that he had no idea that a movie surrounding Whitney Houston's life is in the works, saying, "I don't know nothing about that movie."
