The Big Four Of Metal: Horsemen Of The Apocalypse

Fans say that when you do not know who the Big Four of Metal is, then you are not a metal fan at all. Almost everyone can name the Big Four like the back of their hand. Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer made a significant impact on the world of heavy metal.
  • Rating First Thrash Albums Without Founding Members: Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and More

Slayer announced today that its new album 'Repentless' would be released later this year, marking the thrash group's first time without guitarist Jeff Hanneman (who died during 2013). Some would argue that it's sacrilege (rim shot) for Slayer to continue without Hanneman. • Megadeth's Dave Mustaine Has Something Brewing: New Album in '15?

  • Megadeth's Drummer, Guitarist Quit at Same Time

Since its inception back in 1983, Megadeth has had 19 musicians run through its line-up, with the only constant member being guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Mustaine. But it looks like Mustaine will have to start looking for two more musicians, as both guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover have separately announced their departures from the legendary thrash metal band. "After 10 years, I have decided to quit Megadeth to pursue my own musical interests," Drover wrote in a statement, via "Brave Words." "I want to thank Dave Mustaine and the entire Megadeth family, as well as thanking all the amazing Megadeth fans around the world!!! I truly appreciate all of you. Stay tuned for info on my next musical journey." Just hours after Drover announced his departure, Broderick announced his own departure from Megadeth through a separate statement posted to his website. "Due to artistic and musical differences, it is with great reluctance that I announce my departure fro Megadeth to pursue my own musical direction," Broderick wrote. "I want all of you to know how much I appreciate the amount that you the fans have accepted and respected me as a member of Megadeth for the last seven years, but it is time for me to move on. I wish Dave and everyone in Megadeth all the best." Just like Drover had done, Broderick also promises new music in the near future.
