U2, Michael Buble, Jessie J and Other Celebrity Musicians Playing on Subways
U2 cancelled its previously planned residency on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon after frontman Bono suffered a debilitating bicycle accident last year, however the band came back in a big way for several sketches on an episode last week. One featured the band, in disguise, playing its classic "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" in a subway station at Grand Central Station, one of the busiest transport hubs in New York City. Passerby didn't pay much heed until the band shed its costumes (which weren't very good to begin with) and played "Desire." U2 took part in a long musical tradition known as busking, or playing in a public space, generally for cash tips from those standing by (U2 didn't ask for money of course). They weren't the first major musical act to play in the subway...here are five other acts, from Avril Lavigne to Michael Buble who took to the underground. -

Taylor Swift and '1989' Still on Top; Pentatonix Still Challenging, AC/DC Debuts New Album 'Rock Or Bust'
Taylor Swift keeps on trucking following the Thanksgiving sales binge, keeping her no. 1 spot for 1989 for a fourth week with 244,000 equivalent sales. All told, Swift has been atop the Billboard 200 for 29 total weeks through her career. The only women ahead of her are Mariah Carey wit h30 weeks and Whitney Houston with 46, and it seems Swift could catch the former act next week if 1989 keeps its sales up. -
One Direction Log Year's Second Highest Sales Week with 'Four,' Taylor Swift Stays Strong with '1989,' and Christmas Albums Rise
It took another super-fan phenom to take Taylor Swift from the top spot on the Billboard 200: One Direction gained the no. 1 position with its new album Four, which sold 387,000 copies. Despite being the second highest sales week of the year (which it took from Swift's second week), the sales for the album were lower than analysts expected. -
5 Covers Celebrating 50 Years of Marvin Gaye's "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)": James Taylor, Michael Bublé and More
Fifty years ago on this date Marvin Gaye entered the charts with "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)". The track was far from his first on the Motown label but it did have the most chart success among the singles he had released up to that point, peaking at no. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. We hesitate to call it his most recognizable song—because he's had an unusual number of tracks that have become cultural standards compared to most in his era—but "I wanna stop and thank ya baby" is an instantly recognizable line. Enough so that a number of performers have tried their hands at the song over the last five decades. -

6 Bands Named After Styles of Music That They Don't Play

Beyoncé Tops Billboard 200 for Second Week

Michael Buble Dominates Spotify Christmas Stream
There hasn't been any official numbers from Spotify yet as to who was the most streamed artist on the service for Christmas Day, but we can make a guess based on last week's numbers. Michael Buble was the man to beat, as the crooner took nine of the Top 10 spots for most-streamed Christmas songs during the week of December 12-19. You can argue that it was your mother who was handling all the streaming at your house, but we know that isn't true.
