• 8 Best Musical Comebacks of '14: Garth Brooks, D'Angelo, More

For whatever reason, 2014 was the year where a ton of musicians decided to get their acts together and reunite, come out of retirement or finally release that album we have been desperately craving for more than 10 years. Here are 2014's eight best comebacks:
  • Watch Prince Sit In with Jazz Band at W Hotel in Los Angeles [WATCH]

We have another Prince sighting. Sunday night, Nov. 30, Prince randomly decided to crash a jazz band's performance of "With a Little Help from My Friends." According to "Spin," Prince was a guest at the W Hollywood Hotel's jazz night Sunday when he decided to come down from his viewing position to sit in with the band to play The Beatles standard "With a Little Help from My Friends." Prince, with his impossible coolness, took the performance from being a good one, to being something many of those in attendance will not be forgetting for a long time. Nobody seemed to mind at all and the band appeared to be quite happy with the situation, because normally unsolicited sit-ins are not accepted. It is cool to see a rock star who does not think they are above musicians who are not at their level of fame or have the same talent as them and are willing to spontaneously do creative things with those other artists.
  • The Gaslight Anthem Shares "1,000 Years" Music Video [WATCH]

New Jersey punk band, The Gaslight Anthem, havs shared the music video for their song "1,000 Years" off of their latest album, 'Get Hurt,' which you can check out here. The video captures the band live in concert at Minneapolis' legendary First Avenue music club (you know, the one where Purple Rain took place) and features plenty of close-up shots of their enraptured audience. It's nothing remarkable, but it fits in well with the band's unflashy, grounded aesthetic.
  • Prince Removes Himself From The Internet, Deletes Twitter, Facebook Accounts

Among Prince's exceedingly long list of quirks is his aversion to the Internet, which makes it very difficult to find any of his music online. Although it appeared as if he was changing his stance on the Internet over the past year, creating a Twitter account and sharing some of his new songs online, that's all come crashing down today, Nov. 25, as The Star Tribune reports that the Purple One has deleted his Twitter account, Facebook page, and pulled many of his recent videos off of Youtube without warning. No reason has yet been given for this Internet blackout, but we probably shouldn't be holding our breath for one.
  • 1D, Nicki Minaj, Charli XCX Will Be Final Musical Guests on 'SNL' for '14

"Saturday Night Live" has some big things planned for the end of 2014. Not only will James Franco, Martin Freeman and Amy Adams be hosting the final three episodes of the year, but they will be joined by Nicki Minaj, Charli XCX and One Direction. Fans can expect holiday hijinks the entire month of December, especially the Dec. 20 episode with Adams and "Story of My Life" singers 1D. The group performed on the show last December, joining host Paul Rudd (below), "Billboard" noted. Minaj made her last SNL appearance in 2011, when she guested on The Lonely Island's song "The Creep." Dec. 13 will mark XCX's first time on the show. December 20, Amy Adams returns to host #SNL for the 2nd time, and is joined by musical guest @onedirection! #SNL40 pic.twitter.com/x6lbCsFVJl — Saturday Night Live (@nbcsnl) November 20, 2014
  • Prince Took His First Selfie With No Cellphone

Prince has officially decided to try out the latest 2014 trend, albeit with a 2008 MySpace twist. Today, Prince decided to try his hand at taking selfies and used his SLR camera, not a cellphone, as has been in vogue lately. An ode to the days of MySpace bathroom mirror pictures, Prince took a mirror selfie but upped the ante with the nice camera and spotlighting on him, according to Business Insider. His publicist released a statement to the Huffington Post about the selfie: "Prince used an old-school camera because he doesn't own a cellphone. He jokingly says, 'We ban their usage anywhere around Us because We're allergic 2 lithium and Everybodyelsies."
  • Nick Jonas Shares Single 'Teacher' from Solo Album [LISTEN]

It is less than a week until the release of Nick Jonas's upcoming, self-titled solo album, but that is more than enough time to drop one more single. The 22-year-old singer has shared a dancey new single titled "Teacher" featuring a Prince-inspired electro-funk backing track that could have easily fit on Justin Timberlake's last album. Check out Nick Jonas's new single "Teacher" here: "Teacher" is the fifth single to be shared from Nick Jonas's upcoming, self-titled solo album, following "Wilderness," "Numb" featuring Angel Haze, "Jealous" and "Chains." The album is set for release Nov. 10 and will be Jonas's first solo album since the breakup of the Jonas Brothers in 2013.
  • 7 Albums Named After Years They Weren't Released In

When there is a year written on the front of an album cover, it is fair to assume this was the year the album was released in, or at least recorded. But, the seven artists below released albums that were named after years that they were not actually released in, like Taylor Swift and Prince.
  • Chris Rock's Jokes About ISIS, 9/11 and Boston Marathon Bombing While Hosting 'Saturday Night Live' Leave Many Outraged

The only thing worse than knowing in advance that an episode of Saturday Night Live might be a bit lackluster is putting tons of faith in a host only for them to miss the mark. Chris Rock did the honors last night and while some were entertained, it seems that his jokes about terrorism hit a little too close to home for some. Rock spoke of the irony of those who had trained to run the 26 mile Boston Marathon only to be told to run because there's a bomb. While Rock repeatedly expressed his love for NYC his comments connected to 9/11 were a bit too much for some.
  • Prince Plays 8-Minute Jam on 'SNL' [VIDEO]

"Saturday Night Live" used to run a sketch called "Prince Show," and the audience at Rockefeller Plaza basically got a real life version last night, Nov. 1. The Purple One supplied an eight-minute jam that included pieces of new tracks "Clouds," "Marz" and "Anotherlove."
  • Prince on 'Saturday Night Live': Pop Icon Will Play Uninterrupted Eight-Minute Jam

Prince does not care about the rules. We have known this for a long time, so it is no surprise that he has requested to shake up "Saturday Night Live's" longstanding two-song format. Instead of prepping and performing two four-minute songs, The Purple One has decided to play one eight-minute jam this Saturday on national television with help from his backing band 3rdEyeGirl.
