  • SXSW 'K-Pop Night Out' Showcase Returns for 3rd Year

Legendary Austin music festival South By Southwest will be hosting its third annual "K-Pop Night Out" showcase Thursday, March 19, at the Elysium Nightclub. Presented by the Korea Creative Content Agency, the showcase features performances by a selection of South Korean pop artists, with this year's bill including Hitchhiker, Epik High (pictured above), Crayon Pop, The Barbarettes, Asian Chairshot, EE and Eastern Sidekick. Though the term "K-pop" may suggest that all these artists fall under the same genre of music, "K-Pop Night Out" boasts quite a diverse selection. SXSW describes Epik High as the group responsible for "bringing hip-hop to the mainstream in Korea," while Eastern Sidekick is described as "an edgier Korean version of The Strokes." Other styles of music that are being represented at the showcase include girl group pop (Crayon Pop, The Barbarettes), alternative rock (Asian Chairshot) and bizarre dance music (EE, Hitchhiker).
  • The Strokes's 'Reptilia' Featured in VW Commercial [WATCH]

The Strokes's "Reptilia" has enjoyed a remarkable amount of success since it was released in 2003 as the second single from The Strokes's second studio album "Room on Fire." "Reptilia" has been popular not only with fans but also commercially. Though some of the momentum has been lost for the 11-year-old track, it still remains relevant with ad executives. The most recent example comes in the form of a new Volkswagen commercial for the 2015 Golf line of cars. You see the three different cars Volkswagen is pushing from the sporty, faster model to the electric car of the future. "Reptilia" is set in the background as the cars nimbly maneuver around a sparse cityscape and into a crowded parking garage filled with screaming fans, via "Stereogum." The Strokes have had a small revival in 2014, returning to the live stage in the United States for the first time in three years. Fans eagerly await a potential new album and more touring dates. The band had a five-year hiatus between their third and fourth studio albums in 2006 and 2011 before coming back in 2013 to release "Comedown Machine."
  • 9 Albums With More Than One Cover Design

Whether we like it or not, an album cover greatly influences the way we hear the music held inside of it (it's why the guitars on My Bloody Valentine's Loveless sound "pink" to me). However, there are some artists who have release albums with more than one cover design, either due to arguments with their label, legal troubles, or simply their own artistic vision. Here are nine albums with more than one cover design.
  • 8 Artists Jack White Should Produce

When news broke this week that Jack White was possibly interested in producing the next Libertines album, it made perfect sense, since The Libertines' garage rock sound is just the sort of thing that White is known for. Here are some other artists that we'd like to see Jack White produce.

If there's anything that Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler loves more than music, it's basketball (and since he's about nine feet tall, he's pretty good at it, too). Over the last few years, Butler has hosted the annual Pop vs. Jock basketball game in Montreal, in which musicians play against college basketball players for charity. Exclaim reports that this year's Pop vs. Jock game will take place on Sept. 20 during the Pop Montreal festival, and in addition to Butler and his brother Will, some of the other participating musicians include Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon and Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture.
