  • The Weeknd Arrested for Assaulting a Cop in Las Vegas: Singer Narrowly 'Escaped' Sin City

    The Weeknd had a rough weekend. The singer, aka Abel Tesfaye, allegedly assaulted a police officer in Las Vegas Saturday, Jan. 10, after law enforcement tried to break up an altercation. According to "Billboard," Tesfaye struck the officer with a closed fist, which earned him a misdemeanor charge of battery of a protected person.Tesfaye posted a picture to Instagram later that night of him leaving Sin City, writing that he "escaped."

    Kanye West began his 2015 making fans cry with the heartfelt collaboration with Paul McCartney that featured lyrics written in the perspective of West's deceased mother speaking to his daughter, North West. It was reported that West stopped by Def Jam headquarters last night in New York City to play some new music off of the album.

    Scottish indie pop legends Belle & Sebastian have shared another track from their upcoming album Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance, titled "The Cat with the Cream," which you can check out below. Though the previous songs that have been shared so far from the album have been pretty upbeat and fun, "The Cat with the Cream" is far more dramatic and low-key, with a prominent string section and almost no percussion other than a steady kick drum. The lyrics are also more political than we're used to hearing from frontman Stuart Murdoch, with lines about Tories and the boom/bust nature of capitalist economies.
