Aqua Master, a watchmaker based in New York City, has filed a lawsuit against Sean Kingston after the rapper allegedly used bad checks to pay for his purchases. According to the company, the "Beautiful Girls" singer owes them around $300,000.
As reported by TMZ, Sean Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, dropped by Aqua Master's store in July and ordered a total of 9 pieces of jewelry, which include diamond necklaces, watches, gold chains, a ring and a bracelet. A spokesperson for the company said that some of these items were featured in Anderson's Instagram posts.
The rapper then told the company that his manager, who is based in Los Angeles, would settle the payments via wire transfer. Instead of getting a wire transfer, Aqua Master received 2 checks from Anderson's camp. According to the company, these checks bounced. This prompted the company to sue the Jamaican-American singer.
Aside from Anderson, Aqua Master also named the artist's mother, Janice Turner, as one of the defendants in the lawsuit, New York Daily News reported. As noted by the watchmaker, Turner was the one who issued one of the bad checks to the company.
Anderson and Turner have not yet responded to the lawsuit. But according to an individual who claimed to be the singer's manager, Aqua Master's allegations are false.
