    Lykke Li covering Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home" has several media outlets excited today, although the song was first performed by the Swedish alt star during 2014. Naturally there's always a bit of interest when one prominent performer covers another from a different genre, but perhaps the homage to the Toronto emcee has piqued our interest even more because covers of hip-hop singles are rare...due to the mistaken idea that regular old vocalists can't convert raps to their style. Even if that were true, Drake makes for a favorable cover subject thanks to his blending of rhythms and melodies throughout.     Kanye West and Common are reportedly being tapped to star in the new Spike Lee film 'Chiraq,' being developed for Amazon Studios. Lee is also courting major acting stars Samuel L. Though details are scarce about the film, the plot might deal with the gun violence that has plagued the city, notably the South Side, in recent years.

Instead of cereal that will only last a few days, Cam'Ron has created a T-shirt with a picture of him holding the cereal box - meta. Select boxes will also contain a $100 bill.

Carl Franklin will replace Singleton for the Morgan Creek biopic, 'Billboard' noted.

After the launch of Jay Z's service TIDAL made waves last month, earlier this week, Village People singer Victor Willis admitted that he was wanting to pull his hits "Y.M.C.A.," "Macho Man" and "In The Navy" from the site.
