Birdman has finally spoken on the indictment that involves him and Young Thug in a plot to kill Lil Wayne. Police suspect that Jimmy Winfrey, who's currently in prison, acted on behalf of Birdman and Thug when he fired shots at Lil Wayne's tour bus at the end of April, but the Cash Money Records boss claims he had nothing to do with it.

The beef between Wayne and Birdman has been in the public eye since Weezy first called himself a "prisoner" of Cash Money. Wayne soon took Birdman to court for $51 million, in a case that's still going on.

Young Thug, Birdman's most recent protégé, got himself involved when he tried to name his mixtape Carter 6, the same name of Wayne's long-awaited album, which Weezy says is being barred from release by Birdman. Due to legal threats from Wayne's camp, Thug changed the tape's name to Barter 6, which he released on April 16, nine days before the shooting.

Wayne's bus was shot up after a show in Atlanta, Young Thug and Winfrey's hometown. No one on board was hurt or hit with any gunfire. That night, Thug was performing in New Orleans, in Weezy's home neighborhood of Hollygrove.

After being named as a suspect, Winfrey turned himself in to Atlanta police on June 2. He's facing charges of "aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon and criminal gang activity."

Winfrey is rumored to be Young Thug's former tour manager. He also goes by PeeWee Roscoe and can be seen in Thug's "Halftime" video, which is being studied as evidence in the indictment.

The indictment also states that a call was made to and from phones that are both registered in Birdman's names shortly after the shooting.

We've finally gotten word, albeit indirectly, from Birdman, who, throughout the year, has played a silent role in the ongoing drama. According to TMZ, he insists he's innocent of any involvement in Wayne's attempted murder.

TMZ says sources close to both Birdman and Wayne have confirmed that the above phone call was made -- though they said it came from someone in Weezy's camp, who wanted to tell Birdman that Winfrey had just been kicked out of the club Wayne was performing at for harassing the "FWA" rapper. It seems like whoever made the call was worried about what Winfrey would do next.

Apparently Wayne and his camp, Thug and his camp (which may or may not include Winfrey) and, of course, Birdman all use company phones registered to Cash Money.

The same sources say Birdman has reached out to Wayne and denied any involvement in the killing plot. He also stated his intentions to help discover the real suspects.

Of course, we didn't expect Birdman to confess, but his effort to contact Wayne makes his innocence seem more likely. We still haven't heard Thug weigh in on the indictment. He's currently facing charges of his own -- for "terroristic threats" made against a mall cop as well as drugs and weapons charges that both ensued when police raided his home because of the first charge.
