Britney Spears and Adnan Ghalib's relationship was very brief - but it certainly made a mark on many people's lives, and even traumatized some. Ghalib's ex-wife has now accomodated an interview to reveal what exactly happened at the time.

What the world knew was that Britney Spears was being photographed by paparazzi Adnan Ghalib in late 2007 when the pop diva abruptly leaped into his car to get away from the hordes of photographers pursuing her.

Ghalib and Spears' bizarre relationship began with that fateful encounter.

He told his now ex wife, AzLynn Berry, that it was only a friendship, but she quickly discovered it was much more. Berry, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, claimed that in part because of Ghalib's roving gaze, their marriage, which began in 2003 when she was twenty-three, had always been difficult.

Berry was nonetheless adamant on finding a solution because her family is not one to believe in divorce.

Nevertheless, Berry claims that when Ghalib started dating Spears, their relationship was at a "high point." The woman emphasizes that she and Ghalib were "definitely still married" at the time, saying in fact that "It was the closest we had ever been."

Berry claims that the paparazzi informed her he was attempting to aid Spears, behaving in a manner akin to a personal assistant only.

According to Berry states, "Britney was aware of the incoming conservatorship," and would even divulge a lot of personal information about the pop icon, including things about her mental health.

However, it wasn't until January 2008, around three months into their relationship, that Berry learned Ghalib and Spears were romantically linked after a picture of them sharing a kiss in a Santa Barbara, California, parking lot surfaced. Berry was taken aback and went positively berserk.  

Berry tells Us that she texted him 50 times waiting for him to come back and that it was a very traumatic experience.

Spears stated in her autobiography, "The Woman in Me," that she was unaware of Ghalib's marriage at the time of their liaison.

Berry claims that Jamie Spears' father "was trying to inform Britney" that Ghalib was married.

Jamie Spears went on to get a restraining order against Ghalib following his breakup with Spears.

Still, she now has empathy for Spears.

"[But] if you have a choice between listening to someone who has kind of ripped away your identity and the hot guy with a thick accent that's willing to treat you like a human being, you're going to get what you want out of it."
