Billie Eilish and FINNEAS claimed their latest victory for "What Was I Made For?" after they won the Grammy Award for Best Song Written For Visual Media at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

The recent Grammy Win seemed to be a very huge precursor to the song's expected win at the 2024 Academy Award for Best Original Song where it is also nominated.

"This is shocking for me. I was expecting to leave," a dumbfounded Billie Eilish thanked. "Thank you so much to the Recording Academy, I am just in awe. I am just so grateful every second of my life to be doing everything that I do, and this is ridiculous and insane. Everything I am involved in anything like this I'm just shocked. Thank you to Greta for making the most beautiful, most empowering movie. Thank you to Margot for being so amazing. Making the song, saved me a little bit."

FINNEAS then thanked "Barbie" album producer Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt and both of their parents.

Three other songs were also nominated for the same category, including "Barbie World" by Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj, "Dance the Night" by Dua Lipa and Mark Ronson, and "I'm Just Ken" by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.

Meanwhile, "What Was I Made For?" was also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

Meanwhile, the whole "Barbie" album also won Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media while "Oppenheimer" won the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media (Includes Film And Television).

'What Was I Made For' Winning The Oscar?

With the song winning the Grammy Award and Golden Globe Awards among many other feats, it is now hardpressed to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

The song already won at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Variety's Hitmakers, Denver Film Critics Society, Georgia Film Critics Association, Hawaii Film Critics Society, Latino Entertainment Journalists Association, Music City Film Critics Association, North Dakota Film Society, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and the Golden Globe Awards.

In 2022, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "No Time To Die" for the film of the same name. Should they win this year again, they would be the youngest double Oscar winners. Billie was 21 and FINNEAS was 25 when they won the Oscar for "No Time To Die" in 2022, and they would have been 22 and 26 respectively, if they would win with "What Was I Made For?"
