Taylor Swift songs do all sorts of things, make people feel all sorts of emotions, and now - can apparently save people from deal, also.

Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" Helps Woman Shake Out of Coma

That's what a Northland family from Kansas City discovered following a family member's recovery from a week-long coma thanks to a Taylor Swift song.

At the end of January, Kansas City resident Angela Fisher visited the hospital for a colon dissection.

Regretfully, she never woke up following her hasty entry into an emergency operation. "Everyone tells me that I almost died," Fisher remarked, recalling the terrifying event that had occurred a few months before.

Fisher finds it hard to relive the situation. Fisher remained in a coma for over seven days. That is, until a suggestion was made by an ICU nurse.

"Make some noises do something," Brenda Varner, Fisher's sister, said recalling what the nurse advised them do.

Instead of just talking to her, the family decided to sing one of Taylor Swift's biggest hits.

"We were like, okay, maybe we should start singing," Amanda Fisher, Angela Fisher's daughter, recalled.

So next to Fisher's hospital bed, her worried relatives began to loudly and repeatedly sing Taylor Swift's song "Shake It Off."

"She was crying," Verner remarked. It was the first indication that Fisher had come out of her almost week-long coma thanks to the music. Verner remarked, "It seemed like she was hearing us, but it was like she was just kind of struggling barely."

The route to rehabilitation appeared after the tearing up.

Fisher expresses her gratitude to God, her family, and the ingenious ICU nurse who served as an inspiration to her sister and daughter.

"When the doctors gave up on me and told my family to tell me goodbye, she worked and worked and worked, and here I am because of her," Fisher said.

Fisher will never be able to get this tune out of her mind. Fisher laughed and remarked, "Well, Shake It Off is really working well for me."

"Shake It Off" Success

With around six weeks left in her rehabilitation schedule, Fisher has been discharged from the hospital approximately two weeks ago. For the most beloved girlfriend in Kansas City, it's simply another piece of good fortune in a long line.

Taylor Swift amassed enormous wealth with her song "Shake It Off," which brings in an astounding $84,000 a week on Spotify alone.

Swift believed that Spotify didn't appreciate her work enough, so she took the song down from the platform despite its success.

Swift was the target of a copyright lawsuit for the song "Shake It Off," but the case was eventually withdrawn after Swift claimed that the lyrics were wholly her own.
