Wolfgang Van Halen responded to a recent outburst in which David Lee Roth allegedly verbally abused him for things that happened while they were both in Van Halen.

Diamond Dave insulted Wolfgang in a lengthy voice-over rant that he uploaded to his YouTube account back in January.

In the video, Roth first implied that nepotism had benefited the late Eddie Van Halen's kid before accusing the up-and-coming artist of attempting to bar Roth's guests from Van Halen performances.

Roth called Wolfgang "this fuckin' kid" again throughout his tirade.

Wolfgang 'Honored' Roth Insulted Him

In a recent interview that Blabbermouth translated from the radio program The Morning X With Barnes & Leslie, Wolfgang was asked why he believed Roth would direct such "vile" hate on him.

"I guess I'm honored he even thinks about me as much as he seems to. I guess you have to take what he says with a grain of salt considering he also said that he wrote [Eddie's iconic instrumental track] 'Eruption' and came up with the Frankenstein [Eddie's red-white-and-black-striped guitar pattern]... He said he wrote all the solos that [my] dad wrote," he said.

"I guess that's all I can say. I seem to have been born into this Van Halen drama that has come way before me. And I guess now that my dad isn't here to be a target, I guess he went to the next best thing," Wolfgang said also.

Wolfgang flatly rejected the idea of taking part in an Eddie Van Halen tour or performance in the same interview, saying, "I don't wanna play that music without my dad."

Wolfgang Tour 2024

Nevertheless, Wolfgang will spend a large portion of 2024 touring with his band Mammoth WVH. A headline US tour with Nita Strauss on support is presently coming to an end, but in a few weeks a UK/European run will begin, then in May another US tour with Intervals will take place.

After that, Mammoth WVH will once more open for Metallica in the summer and then play as their support act in the fall.

Sammy Hagar, meantime, is honoring Van Halen with his next "Best of All Worlds" tour, which will include Jason Bonham, Joe Satriani, and Michael Anthony as his supporting band.
