Awards shows and Taylor Swift mentions are quite normal. But JoKoy's experience after making his Swift jokes seem to be putting other comedians on a red alert.

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Jokes at the Oscars 2024 - Not Going to Happen?

Although Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were the talk of the football season, Jimmy Kimmel isn't so sure he'll make the effort to mention famous pair will be mentioned in his opening monologue on Sunday at the Oscars.

In an interview with CNN this week, Kimmel responded to a question about whether he intended to discuss Swift and Kelce onstage during his fourth year hosting Hollywood's biggest night, saying that the two are "not off limits, but probably played out."

Kimmel clarified that there has to be a careful balance struck between making fun of the celebs assembled inside the Dolby Theatre and not upsetting them.

"It's not that easy. It depends on the person because some are more sensitive than others," Kimmel said. "God help you, if I know you. Like, if you've been to my house, you're in trouble on Oscar night."

CNN has also been informed by Kimmel that Damon will not be present on Sunday.

"He is not nominated for an Oscar. He was in 'Oppenheimer.' Everyone else was nominated except for him," Kimmel joked.

Regarding Aaron Rodgers, who sparked a spat with Kimmel by inadvertently implying that the comic will be referenced in court records pertaining to the Jeffrey Epstein case, Kimmel joked, "Uh, I don't know who that is."

Joking aside, Kimmel stated that he will not be mentioning Rodgers at the Oscars event and that it is unlikely that the sportsman will be asked to appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in the near future.

JoKoy's Jokes on Taylor Swift Backfired

One can remember how Jo Koy had to address the criticism over his Sunday night Golden Globes opening monologue, in which he joked about Taylor Swift.

Jo Koy made a joke during the awards event about how frequently reaction shots of the singer from her appearances at boyfriend Travis Kelce's games are cut to by the NFL.

"The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift," he joked.

Naturally, cameras cut to Swift, who pouted and then sipped from her champagne flute. JoKoy's career appeared to be in jeopardy after it.
