Halle Bailey has been on a roll since the release of The Little Mermaid; the singer-slash-actress welcomed her first baby, starred in the critically acclaimed film The Color Purple, and released new music.
Is there anything Bailey cannot do? Fans are left in awe as she continues to conquer both the film and music industries, showcasing her diverse talents.
Bailey celebrated her 24th birthday by gifting fans a highly awaited music release, "In Your Hands," and a video of her son saying his first words.
According to Billboard, Bailey proudly revealed that she welcomed her son, Halo, a few months ago. In a heartwarming gesture, she included him in the music video of her new single, fostering a sense of connection with her fans.
"All in your hands, in your hands/ The world is yours when I'm in it/ In your hands, in your hands/ You can't let go or you'll lose your chance," Bailey sings in the chorus.
Additionally, Bailey and her boyfriend, rapper DDG, shared a clip of Halo saying his first words: "dada."
Hailey Bailey Joins Cast of Blockbuster Films
While Bailey started out as a singer, the "Angel" hitmaker dabbled in acting and was included in some of the biggest films in 2023: Disney's The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple.
The Little Mermaid is a live-action remake of the 1989 film, directed by Rob Marshall. It features new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken, USA Today reports.
Bailey starred alongside Jonah Hauer-King, Jacob Tremblay, Javier Bardem, Mellisa McCarthy, Awkwafina, Simone Ashley, Rachel Zegler, and more.
Meanwhile, the singer-slash-actress was also part of the star-studded cast of The Color Purple.
"Halle painted the picture very well," said Denisia "Blu June" Andrews. "I think that was the catalyst for us to just go in in one session and nail it."
Halle Bailey's Pride And Joy
Despite being included in some of the biggest films in 2023 and releasing hit music, Bailey's pride and joy is her baby, Halo.
"It cannot compare to the biggest joy of my life. And that was becoming a mom to my perfect little angel Halo," she said in an interview.
"There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone. Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that," she added, referring to her secret pregnancy.
