No stranger to speaking out on controversy, country superstar Jason Aldean returns to the internet with another crystal-clear message for those who claim to know all the facts about his private life -- and, in particular, to those who think they know everything about his wife of nine years, Brittany.
Aldean recently took to his Instagram to host a Q&A session. While answering other questions, the singer took a moment to reveal a surprising tidbit that many have gotten completely wrong: Namely, his wife's age.
A quick online search will bring up multiple websites that claim that Brittany Aldean's, née Brittany Kerr, birthday is June 19, 1988 Her husband, however, says otherwise. Brittany is 36 years old, not 35 as her internet-assigned birth year, 1988, would have you think.
Aldean appeared exasperated at the Wild West-style inaccuracies of the online world, pointing out that not everything you read on the internet is necessarily true.
"Everything I have ever read on the internet says she was born in '88," he said. "No, it was 1987."
Says who? Aldean's own in-laws. It's hard to imagine a more credible source than the former NBA dancer's parents. Aldean agreed that he definitely trusts his wife's mom and dad "over Google."
Even IMDB has Brittany's age wrong. She will be turning 37 years old this upcoming June. Aldean, meanwhile, recently celebrated his 47th birthday on Feb. 28. The Georgia native was born in 1977, 10 years before his wife.
For previous birthdays and anniversaries, Jason has taken to social media to declare his love for Brittany and their family. In fact, his Instagram is rife with content of the couple, whether celebrating a fun night out, or a trip to Turks and Caicos.
However, Brittany isn't the first wife of the "Try That in a Small Town" singer. In 2013, Aldean was in a highly publicized cheating scandal with her, leading to his divorce from Jessica Ussery. The two separated by the end of the year. Ussery was Aldean's high school sweetheart. The two had been married since 2001 and have two daughters together: Keeley and Kendal.
Brittany, a make-up artist, lifestyle blogger, singer, and former dancer for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, was first seen with Aldean in 2012. Brittany is also an alum of American Idol, having appeared on the show in 2012 for the show's 11th season. She made it to Hollywood after her initial audtion, but was eliminated shortly after.
The couple made their partnership official in March, 2014, and later appeared at the CMT Awards that year, making their red-carpet debut. They married in March 2015 and share two children, son Memphis and daughter Navy.
Last week, both Aldeans shared photos from their destination wedding in Mexico to Instagram, celebrating 9 years together. "Thank you for being my 'shotgun angel' thru this Crazy life we lead. Wouldn't wanna do it with anybody else," Aldean wrote to his wife.
