MGK, formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly, and Trippie Redd's new collaborative EP genre:sadboy arrives amidst a testy online fight between MGK, Trippie, and producer Kaixan, or @kaixan2k

It all began when Kaixan found out that he had a production credit on one of the songs off genre:sadboy. The artist, who posted that he infrequently produces, ignited the fire when he quoted a post on X announcing Trippie and MGK's album's upcoming release.

He reveals that he had "just learned" he had a beat placement on the album that very morning. Kaixan continued that he knew it would be the "worst song [he's] ever heard." He did not specify which song he worked on.

Trippie Redd fired back hours later, announcing that Kaixan's beat had now been "removed" from the album. Redd went on to wish him "Good luck."

The two entered into a back and forth, with Kaixan chiding that Redd's "label paid in advance" and attaching a crying-laughing emoji with a peace sign. Redd said otherwise, asking for proof of payment in multiple posts and then claiming he would "double the money" if Kaixan could prove he was compensated for the beat placement.

Kaixan continued to post a notice from what appeared to be by Redd's label, detailing instructions for Kaixan to begin the online beef as a means of promoting the album. Trippie replied, deeming the document "fake ass sh-.

Despite this public dispute with Trippie Redd, Kaixan made a point to differentiate his relationship with Redd and MGK, asking friends to redirect the hate from Trippie to MGK because he "Never had an issue with [Trippie Redd]," but did not want to be tied to MGK.

"Played himself for Twitter likes," MGK fired back on X, attaching the clown emoji at the end.

Kaixan then shared a now infamous Fuse interview with MGK where the musician refers to a then-17-year-old Kendall Jenner as his "celebrity crush" that he hopes he can "snag." Despite the fact that MGK was 23-years-old at the time and Jenner was a minor, he claimed that all was fair game because "she's a celebrity" and there are "no limits right there." MGK also previously tweeted about Eminem's daughter Hallie Jade, calling her  "hot as f-" when she was only 16-years-old.

Kaixan dug his digital claws into the former rapper, tweeting that "MGK a man famous for his takes on girls under the age of 18."

Expressing his disappointment in Redd's decision to work with MGK, Kaixan added that he was "dumbfounded" by the collaboration.

Concerning the beat itself, one X user asked how Kaixan got the placement in the first place, given his disappointment in being on the record. He explained that he sent out "loops out to mutuals," eventually leading to the final beat that was sent out to different artists.

On Mar. 29, the same day as genre:sadboy's release, Kaixan dropped a track of his own -- "save them kids," produced by Fear Dorian. The artist announced the song's release in an Instagram story post, adding "Tape in May."
