The 20-year-old singer and dancer faced backlash for her daring outfit choice, the edgy, spiked black makeup encircling her eyes, and the faux-hawk hairstyle she sported.

One social media user questioned why JoJo Siwa chose to dress up as a KISS member.  Another playfully reminisced about feeling like they were back in a Miley Cyrus era. "jojo siwa thinks she's giving miley cyrus bangers era," they posted.

In a recent 2022 conversation with People, Siwa expressed her excitement for touring, emphasizing that it is her favorite activity. She confidently mentioned that new music is imminent, highlighting the necessity for fresh tracks to accompany her tours.

While JoJo remained vague about the details at the time, she hinted at an evolution in her sound, promising that fans can expect the familiar JoJo with a refreshing twist.

She said it like, "The same JoJo that you've always known, but in a new way."

JoJo Siwa's new song "Karma" is set to be released on Friday (April 5).
