Jade Thirlwall will reportedly take a dig at her former mentor, Simon Cowell in her debut solo song.

Cowell is one of the judges of X-Factor instrumental to her success.  X-Factor is the reality show where she rose to fame with her bandmates.

According to the Daily Mirror, the 31-year-old singer is getting ready to release her solo music after she and her Little Mix bandmates, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, announced their hiatus from the group.

In one of the songs that the musician will drop, The Sun reported that she will shade Simon Cowell through subtle hints within its lyrics.

Per the outlet, the group, who previously had four members before Jesy Nelson left, was initially signed under the famed TV judge's label Syco, but they made a big move and switched to RCA to work on their fifth album.

It was reported that the two parties had a falling out, so the group moved to another music company.

According to the outlet, the lyrics will contain the line, "Sold my soul to a Syco," which is a direct reference to Cowell's record label.

In addition, the music video will depict a young Jade Thirlwall trying to be successful as a singer, and a mysterious man smoking a cigarette will help her. Still, he is in charge of the music industry.

A representative for Syco shared a statement regarding the matter, telling the Daily Mirror, "The entire team who worked incredibly hard behind the scenes with Little Mix to help make the group a success would continue to wish them all solo success."

Little Mix, Simon Cowell Fall Out

There have been initial reports that stated that Thirlwall claimed in 2020 that the group was leaving Cowell's company "f*****d" them over.

"We did a little bit but we had a switch of labels during the LM5 process and that really f***ed us over. It was harder to put all our creativity out there in the way we would have liked," she said in a previous interview.

On the other hand, Cowell insisted that there had been no issue between him and the group.

Instead, Little Mix's management, Modest Management, had a tension with him that caused an "embarrassing row" over a songwriting credit for the song "Woman Like Me."
