Liza Minnelli has been spotted in public amid her health issues.
The "It Was a Good Time" songstress, 78, was pictured in a wheelchair outside her Beverly Hills, Calif., home. The Sun shared copies of the aforesaid snap, noting that the outing happened amid her health battles.
Liza Minnelli Marks Recent Public Appearance
During her recent public appearance, Minnelli wore an all-black outfit, donning her usual pixie cut.
Far from what tabloids have reported, she has maintained a positive spirit two weeks after marking her birthday.
The recent outing came months after reports claimed she needed hands-on care due to her health issues amid her "declining" condition. She also made an appearance at the Academy Awards in March 2022 to present an award with Lady Gaga.
According to The Los Angeles Times, a friend and collaborator of Minnelli believed she was "sabotaged" into making an appearance at the Oscars stage in a wheelchair.
"That's a terrible word to use, but she only agreed to appear at the Oscars if she would be in the director's chair because she's been having back trouble," said Michael Feinstein during an appearance on SiriusXM's "The Jess Cagle Show." "She said, 'I don't want people to see me limping out there.' She said, 'You know, I want to look good. I don't want people to worry about me.'"
Feinstein added that five minutes before Minnelli's appearance, the stage manager reportedly told her she had to be in a wheelchair.

Why Is Liza Minnelli in a Wheelchair?
For years, Minnelli has dealt with several health issues that eventually led her to depend on a wheelchair.
Starting in 1992, the "Cabaret" singer had been in and out of rehab because of her substance abuse. She has been sober since her last stint in 2015.
Aside from her issues with drugs, Minnelli suffered from polyps on her vocal cords that prevented her from singing for 18 months. On top of that, she underwent two hip replacements and a knee-cap replacement.
In 2007, she had her jawbone reconstructed following a fall. She then broke her wrists in 2013.
Minnelli's most serious health issue to date happened in 2000 when she contracted viral encephalitis that led her to collapse. She managed to survive the health scare and learned to walk again.
