In an interview with People, indie-pop singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers shared how her "creative handshake" with songwriter Ian Fitchuk "just worked" when they created her new album Don't Forget Me.

According to Rogers, she had nothing in mind when she started conceptualizing the songs, saying she felt "no pressure."

"It was really just playtime. We worked from 10 to 5, and we would write one song before lunch and one song after," she told the publication. "Those five days weren't all in a row, but they were within the span of two weeks, and it was just like... I think that if I would tell myself a couple of years ago that I did this, I would be like, 'Oh my God, are you good? Are you okay?' But I was just so happy to get to go to work every day and do this thing that I love more than anything."

The Grammy-nominated singer's new album contains anecdotes and stories about herself, her friend's experiences, and the characters she created in the transformative creative process she had with Fitchuk.

"I turn 30 at the end of April, and in so many ways, this record is this big woven tapestry of all these stories from my twenties," Rogers added. "I'm at this place in my life where I really trust my creative practice and my creative flow, and I know that I'm an artist, and I don't need to prove that to myself anymore."

Alongside the new album release, Rogers announced that she is going on her first arena tour.

"Here's how it's going to work...from April 13 to April 20, in every city where I'm playing an arena this fall, you can go to the local box office to choose your seats and buy your ticket for a special in-person price," she revealed.

"In NYC, Philly, Boston, and Chicago, I'm going to be in person selling tickets directly to you at the box office. After the box office day festivities, I'll be playing a show that very same night in those four cities where me and my band will perform Don't Forget Me for the very first time."
