Dua Lipa will perform double duty as a musical guest and host for Saturday Night Live on May 4, 2024.

Lipa's highly-anticipated performance is a day after she would have released her newest album, Radical Optimism.

Dua Lipa' Saturday Night Live' Performance

NBC and Saturday Night Live announced that Grammy-winning singer Dua Lipa will be appearing on the show again for the third time since she first appeared in 2018

Lipa has performed at the Emmy-winning sketch show in 2018 along with actress Natalie Portman. Lipa performed "New Rules" and "Homesick" at the time.

In 2020, she returned to the show as a musical guest, performing "Don't Start Now" and "Levitating," songs from her Grammy-winning album, Future Nostalgia. She appeared alongside host Kristen Wiig and on the "U.S.O. Performance" sketch.

Lipa's return this 2024 marks her third time performing as a musical guest and her first as a host for the show.

Saturday Night Live has seen various musical guests performing on the show's landmark 49 seasons in the past year.

Ice Spice, Bad Bunny, Foo Fighters, Boygenius, Tate McRae, Noah Kahan, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Reneé Rapp, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Kacey Musgraves, Travis Scott, RAYE, Chris Stapleton, and Ariana Grande, were among the musical guests who have performed on Saturday Night Live Season 49.

Dua Lipa' Radical Optimism' Album Release Date

Lipa will release her highly-awaited third album on May 3, 2024, a day before her SNL performance.

In an Instagram video she shared recently, Lipa has much more to say about her upcoming record.

"It's the beauty of the chaos and trying to stay calm through it," the Grammy-winning singer said in the video. "Listening over and over and feeling like, 'How do I want to tell this story?'"

Lipa has since released three lead singles for Radical Optimism, "Houdini," "Training Season," and "Illusion."

"I always go for the most upbeat ones to introduce people to the record," she revealed. "I can just keep on dancing and keep people dancing. We're trying to create a world in a different way, and sonically it was about experimenting. Thematically, it was always about resilience."
