Country music sensation Jelly Roll's remarkable journey from a troubled past to stardom has captivated fans worldwide. Despite his newfound fame, the musician's simple joy in buying socks in bulk reveals the humility that defines his success.
Jelly Roll is considered to be one of the biggest musicians not only within the country music genre but in the entire industry itself. Before amassing massive fame, the singer had a tragic childhood, as he was in and out of prison for several charges, but today, he's enjoying his fame.
In an interview with Sabrina from Queens of Audacy, the musician shared a humbling experience. He said that after becoming famous, he started splurging on things that he rarely had as a kid.
Many would assume he would choose gold, expensive clothing, or similar things, but Jelly Roll is happy with bundles of socks.
"Don't judge me for this, y'all. I promise I grew up very humble, but I only wear socks once. I buy socks in bulk...it's the most frivolous thing I've done with my success," he revealed.
He then added that he hoped his statement didn't let people down. He also noted that when a person is fat, they "can't have stinky feet too," so they should always wear fresh socks.
The recent news comes after Jelly Roll returned to Antioch High School in Tennessee years after being told he would never be allowed to return.
In a video shared by his wife, Bunnie XO, the singer can be seen walking around the hallways of his school and interacting with students and staff members.
Later on, he was welcomed by hundreds of students at the basketball court where he performed.
"They told my husband he would never be allowed back into his high school when he was younger," Bunnie XO wrote in the clip, adding, "The love and giving back that they showed my husband was the sweetest thing ever to watch."
In other updates about Jelly Roll, the singer will perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards live from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, TX, on May 16. Fans can watch his performance live on Prime Video.
He recently celebrated his first year as a nominee for Male Artist of the Year, Music Event of the Year, Single of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year at the prestigious award-giving body.
He told Katie Neal in an interview that he couldn't wrap his head around being nominated four times.
