Concerns have surrounded Britney Spears' mental well-being recently, causing her parents to worry, her estranged dad included.

Information from The Sun suggests her parents are considering stepping in to help despite their challenging relationship with the star.

According to the insider, their primary focus remains on her mental well-being. Expressing worries about a decline in her mental health, the Spears family insider stated that Jamie is anxious about the possibility of a tragic outcome - "she could die."

Both parents share apprehensions regarding the "Toxic" singer's yearning for independence and the potential consequences of her decisions and influence from others.

The insider said, "It is no secret that Britney has mental health issues [because] it was discussed openly in her court hearings and paperwork by her and conservators. Then she was on a stable controlled system in place of medication and therapy, but now that has ended."

"There are clear worries from Jamie's side that he sees similarities to how Britney was back in 2007 and 2008," they went on to say.

"He knows that he has been portrayed as the bad guy by his daughter and the Free Britney movement, but he maintains that his actions saved her life. He worries that he may have to try and retake a similar step because her mental welfare seems to be spiraling."

"Jamie has made it clear he sees signs that Britney is getting sick again, but his hands are tied. In his eyes, he fought so hard to save her from ending up dead and now he worries that she is not doing well again," the insider revealed.

According to a source, the recent issue stemmed from Britney's intense distress and frustration after losing the court case against her father regarding the payment of court fees within the conservatorship.

The conflict between them had been a persistent challenge over the years.

According to the insider, the "Womanizer" singer believes Jamie took advantage of his role as her conservator for over a decade to misappropriate funds from her estate. Britney has accused Jamie of embezzling a substantial $36 million during the conservatorship period.

In April 2024, the dispute was finally resolved by reaching a settlement where Britney was mandated to cover her father's legal expenses exceeding $2 million.

The insider said, "The outcome of the case deeply angered her. Britney, in truth, lost that case because the courts backed her dad. The conservatorship was set up through The [Los Angeles] Supreme Court, which meant spending and business fees were effectively checked and verified by the judges on the case over the years. At the same time Britney still then endures guilt and remorse at knowing she has such strained and turbulent relationships with her parents."
