
The NFL has confirmed Colombian superstar Karol G as the headliner for the halftime show at its upcoming American football game in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 5. The highly anticipated match will mark the league's first-ever global halftime show broadcast on YouTube, bringing the reggaeton icon's performance to fans around the world in real time.
The NFL indicated that the presentation of La Bichota at Corinthians stadium will be part of its program "Celebrating the Sounds of Latin America through Game Day Entertainment." The 2025 NFL São Paulo game , scheduled for September 5, will be a matchup between the reigning AFC champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Los Angeles Chargers.
"I'm so excited to be part of the first-ever NFL livestream on YouTube. It's truly an honor and a proud moment," the Colombian artist, who is touring with her Billboard No. 1 album, Tropicoqueta, said in a press release. "I've seen many NFL halftime shows over the years, and now having the opportunity to bring my music to this global stage means so much to me. I can't wait to celebrate with everyone in São Paulo and with fans around the world."
This is the second National Football League game in Brazil. The first halftime show last year was hosted by Anitta .
This is also Karol G's second show in Brazil .
In September 2024, the Colombian singer-songwriter performed at the iconic Rock in Rio festival, where she wowed an audience of more than 30,000 people on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. Her popularity in Brazil is particularly notable given the limited number of Spanish-speaking artists who have managed to break into that market.
The Tropicoqueta in the NFL
Karol G's performance at the American football game in Brazil is expected to be a preview of the Colombian artist's highly anticipated Tropicoqueta tour, part of a live celebration of her latest album.
Last July, the artist announced that she would announce the dates of her new international tour in the coming days.
