Taylor Swift stopped by The X-Factor talent show in the U.K. last night (Oct. 12) to show contestants how it's done by performing an amped-up version of her hit "Shake It Off."

The performance was highlighted by some impressive dancing and Swift's undeniable energy. All of the judges, including ex-American Idol critic Simon Cowell, joined the audience in a standing ovation after the performance. Check it out below, via Alter the Press!

"Shake It Off" is the lead single from Swift's upcoming 1989 album, her fifth studio effort to date. The single went straight to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart after its Aug. 18 release. 1989 is out Oct. 27 via Big Machine.

Swift's last album, Red, was a mix of country and pop songs, a combination that doesn't look likely for 1989. "This time around I've chosen the brave and bold way of going about things," she told Vogue UK recently. "Because with this album I've completely changed the sound of everything I've done until now. So it's interesting to not be afraid of that. You know, I don't want to hurt people's feelings, I don't want to betray Nashville, whatever, but essentially it comes down to challenging yourself as an artist."

Prior to her comments, Big Machine's Scott Borchetta spoke to Rolling Stone about the album. "Taylor fans are going to love it," he said. "Will country stations play a complete pop song just because it's her? No. But when she comes to town, her friends at country radio will come and see her."

Swift is reportedly planning for a world tour in support of 1989, but now dates have been set. The singer currently has three appearances listed on her website. She'll play Hollywood on Oct. 24, Los Angeles on Dec. 5 and New York City on Dec. 12.
