Continuing on in their weeklong residency at the famed Late Show with David Letterman, the Foo Fighters returned last night to the Ed Sullivan Theater with a killer performance of Heart's epic tune "Kick It Out." And best of all, Heart members Ann and Nancy Wilson were there to help out!

Just last night, the band stopped by Letterman's Late Show in order to promote their upcoming HBO docuseries Sonic Highways, which premieres this coming Friday, Oct 17. The group will also release an album of the same name on Nov. 10.

Check out the group's stellar performance of "Kick It Out" here:

The above performance is the second of five the Foo Fighters will be making this week. On Monday night, the band's frontman Dave Grohl appeared on the late night show to talk up the new album and HBO series, first sitting panel with Letterman and then taking to the stage to kick off a performance of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" with Zac Brown Band frontman, Zac Brown.

Be sure to tune into Sonic Highways this Friday on HBO. As the legendary comedian mentioned, both Ann and Nancy will appear on an episode.

So, what did you think of the performance? It's pretty safe to say Letterman dug it, considering his ever so enthusiastic tone towards the song's ending, saying, "I don't know! I don't know! I don't know! Oh god, we should do this every night!"

It's a rarity, seeing Letterman excited, but Dave Grohl and his crew certainly managed to do so! Be sure to tune into the Late Show tonight for another performance from the Foo Fighters.
