One Direction just loves to shatter all kinds of records. Now, the "Steal My Girl" band has broken the bank at box offices worldwide, with its latest movie One Direction: Where We Are becoming the best-selling Event Cinema film of all time.

According to The Fan Carpet, One Direction: Where We Are sold over 1.2 million tickets worldwide over the weekend, making it the most successful movie of its kind. Though when a musical juggernaut like One Direction is up against special screenings of The Nutcracker and operas, it's not hard to see why the boy band would dominate - killer numbers, aside.

One Direction: Where We Are had a solid international screen average, pulling in $4500 daily per screen. Globally, that means the two-day movie event (which screened on Oct. 11 and 12) made $15 million worldwide.

In addition to owning the box office, One Direction's movie also dominated Twitter, with the film being this past weekend's top trending topic on global Twitter.

Domestically, One Direction: Where We Are is reported to have brought in $3.4 million.

One Direction: Where We Are is the second concert film from boy band One Direction and was released over the weekend for a limited, two-day engagement. It was a concert film focusing on 1D's recently closed Where We Are Tour and also featured exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews and moments with the band.

One Direction previously released the film This Is Us in 2013.
